We could not find a microphone on this device. If you have a headset or earbuds, connect them and try again.

On Windows

  1. Check that a microphone is connected and switched on -- if you use a headset, plug it in now.
  2. Windows can also hide the microphone from browsers: open Start, then Settings.
  3. Go to Privacy & security, then Microphone.
  4. Turn on Microphone access, and turn on Let desktop apps access your microphone.
  5. Return to Google Chrome and start again.

On Mac

  1. Check that a microphone is connected and switched on -- if you use a headset, plug it in now.
  2. macOS can also hide the microphone from browsers: click the apple icon at the top-left corner of your screen and choose System Settings (System Preferences on an older Mac).
  3. Click Privacy & Security, then Microphone, and turn on Google Chrome.
  4. Quit Google Chrome completely and reopen it, then start again.

On iPhone or iPad, Safari
